Iain is a Chartered Engineering Geologist and Geotechnical Engineer with more than 25 years’ experience working on a variety of major projects around the world. Iain leads the business development as Managing Director with overall responsibility for providing strategic leadership at Novacene. 

Iain has extensive experience in the management of geotechnical assets, especially in highways, rail, maritime and other public sector assets, especially coastal cliff management and he specialises in the "unusual" and "problem" projects where innovation is required to solve complex and demanding problems. He also has a proven track record of successfully collaborating with Universities and Institutions such as Hong Kong University, Cardiff University, Bournemouth University, Staffordshire University, The Hong Kong Geotechnical Engineering Office, the Coal Authority and the Geological Survey of Ireland. 
 
Iain has extensive experience in deep geothermal and ground source heating and cooling, working closely with hydrogeologists and energy experts to provide clients with a natural, economical and sustainable energy source.
