Les is a Chartered Structural Engineer with more than 25 years of experience. Les operated his own practice prior to joining Novacene. Les can produce all types of structural design in Structural Steelwork, Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Brickwork and Timber structures to suit large scale building such as sheds and offices to smaller scale domestic projects requiring a design and detail for planning or building regulation submissions.

Les is keen to expand our Novacene @ Home domestic property sector but is also very capable of leading projects in the larger scale transport, commercial, industrial, larger scale residential and energy development sectors from preliminary through to detailed design stage calculations, production drawings and fabrication details to the latest design codes and industry standards.



Les was part of a small team leading the design of the preliminary superstructure for Hong Kong’s prestigious international airport terminal building, the terminal building is constructed on part reclaimed land and part of the original Chek Lap Kok island. It was regarded as a remarkable design and construction achievement on an unprecedented scale at that time. The project entered the record books as the world’s largest enclosed space and is also well documented for other achievements throughout numerous international engineering, construction and architectural journals. Les was Project Design Engineer for the later Airport East Hall Expansion project which are two almost identical three storey buildings ultimately winning first place at the Hong Kong Institution of Civil Engineers paper of the year award.
